| Green Spirit
Mug: small: $38, 4 1/4 inches tall, 14
ounce capacity medium: $40, 5 3/8 inches tall, 19 ounce capacity large: $45, 6 inches tall, 32 ounce capacity The face of each mug is pressed and carved from a slab-built cylinder while the clay is still wet. I carved a little clay stamp for the acorns. A green slip is then applied and the leaves are drawn through the slip in a process know as scrafitto. The mug is then fired and glazed with a translucent green celadon. Each face is unique. |

The archetypal image of the green man is an ancient symbol of irrepressible life. knowledge, and the unity of humanity and nature. Although the leaf-face image is typically called green "man", I often use the phrase green spirit to include male and female aspects. | |||||
